DOANE, Neb. —Track and Field placed 26 student-athletes on this year’s NAIA Scholar-Athlete list, including Wheatland High School graduate Lance Lucas, according to a news release issued by Doane University on May 29.
The Tiger men collected 13 honorees, leading the NAIA for the 2017-18 season. The women also had 13, second most in the NAIA this year behind Spring Arbor’s 14.
To be recognized, the student-athlete must be of junior academic status and hold at least a 3.50 cumulative grade-point average.
The following men were recognized this year:

Braden Knuth (Sr./Grand Island, Neb./Grand Island HS)
Michael Shavlik (Sr./Elkhorn, Neb./Elkhorn HS)
Brady Stuhmer (Sr./Alma, Neb./Alma HS)
Austin Becker (Jr./Norfolk, Neb./Norfolk Catholic HS)
Chandler Flynn (Jr./Lexington, Neb./Lexington HS)
Turner Hill (Jr./Crete, Neb./Crete HS)
