Unexpected water outages in Glendo

Glendo School goes virtual until issue cleared up

GLENDO – On Tuesday, May 7 residents in Glendo started to experience unexpected water issues due as a crew was fixing the water main on Warren Avenue. Water issues persisted into the next day affecting the north side of town on Warren, Lazy Pants Loop, and parts of Paige, including Glendo Schools. Glendo Schools moved to a virtual day and the water was on later that day. Coffey Engineering and WyoDak Energy scheduled a water shut-off for the affected area on Thursday, May 9. Glendo students went virtual and the water was turned on later Thursday evening.

During the monthly town council meeting Councilman, Dan Dugdale stated, “There’ll be another one, I’m sure; it’s just an old system. Lines aren’t even where they’re supposed to be. They hit one that’s not supposed to be there, that was the problem.” On the Town of Glendo Facebook page Sunday, May 12, the town posted, “Unfortunately, we have run into some snags with the water project on Warren. We would greatly appreciate your patience as we explore solutions over the next two weeks. The crew is working diligently to find the best answers to the problems at hand, and with such an old system, there have been quite a few that have popped up, to be expected. Over the next two weeks, we will have various water shut offs. We will keep everyone updated and knowledgeable to the best of our ability. We are very appreciative of the grace the town is showing us and are excited to get over the hump and into a new and improved system soon.”
