WHEATLAND — The Wheatland Town Council postponed a decision on selling a fire apparatus during its regular meeting Monday.
Chief Chuck Williams told the council that with its new ladder truck, which has a bigger pump, the Wheatland Volunteer Fire Department doesn’t have a need for pumper No. 4.
Council delayed the decision pending more information.
Council members had some questions as to whether the town could have a higher ISO rating if it hangs on to pumper No. 4.
Williams also mentioned the Wheatland VFD has a new assistant chief, Willie Dagelman. Bailey Rupp, the previous assistant chief, moved.
