WHEATLAND – Craft day at the Services for Seniors Activities Center resulted in turning canning lids, twigs, fabric materials and buttons into colorful sunflowers. Each of the five participants created a piece of art in their own color and style.

“Once again, it’s the little things that mean the most,” Carrie Kafka, Activity Center activities coordinator, said. “It’s fun to see what you can make out of fabric, canning lids and twigs. I enjoyed seeing the Walsall working together and having fellowship on a Thursday morning, crafting and laughing together.”

On May 9th, the activities center will host a Mother’s Day Tea at 1 p.m., hosting a few ballet dancers from Dance Wyoming who will perform a dance for the senior ladies. Plans are to have cheesecake cupcakes and tea. Seniors are welcome to attend and are urged to wear a favorite hat.

Kafka wanted people to know U.S. Senator John Barasso, R-Wyo., sent a congratulations card to Services for Seniors, and a clipping of the newspaper article about the 50th anniversary celebration in Wheatland.

“I thought it super thoughtful and awesome he acknowledged us just because he saw it in a newspaper article,“ Kafka said.
