Jeffery Arthur “Jeff” Billing, 75, passed away suddenly on Sunday, Oct. 11, 2026, at his home in Wheatland.
Jeff was born on Monday, May 7, 1951, in Wilmington, Delaware, to Donald and Martha (Harrington) Billing. After graduating from the University of Delaware, he pursued a career as a boilermaker, traveling throughout Colorado. His last job brought him to Wheatland, where he met Carol Lockman. They were married on May 24, 1986. Soon after their wedding, Jeff adopted Carol’s daughters, Jennifer and Trish, making them his own.
While living in Wheatland, Jeff worked for the highway department and the school district. However, his true calling was being a painter and handyman, helping many members of the community. He developed a loyal following of repeat customers and enjoyed sharing his skills and teaching others who wanted to learn his craft.
Jeff and Carol also enjoyed traveling with family and making memories together.
Jeff is survived by his wife, Carol Billing; daughters, Jennifer Wyant and Trish Billing; sister, Jane Terry; brother, Don “Buck” Billing; grandchildren, Braydon (Darcey), CJ, Anjulina, Jenna, True, Christopher, and Cavyn; and great-grandchildren, Arthur and Theodore.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Nov. 21, 2026. The time and location will be announced at a later date.
