DRIGGS, Idaho – Local Wheatland couple Mike and Diane Haroldson joined team leaders Joe and Alison Arnold along with Carlton Schmidt from Laramie, as Team Wyoming, to tell a story in snow.

WHEATLAND – John and Suzanne Rocha have not only donated their time and efforts, but their building, the Angel Center for local food distribution in Wheatland. As they look to retire from the endeavor, they are looking for someone else to step up in the community to keep this venture growing and prosperous.

WHEATLAND – Wheatland Kiwanis Club President Gwen Seidel announced applications are now available to those wishing to apply for the Wheatland Kiwanis Club Memorial Scholarship.

HARTVILLE – The Hartville Episcopal Perish Hall had many members of the community gathering together on Jan. 26, for Ray Mansoldo and Bob Hohnholt’s presentation on their Sunrise Mine memories. The presentation consisted of each gentleman’s family history, experiences and memories from Sunrise.

PLATTE COUNTY – Despite the beautiful sight of falling snow from within one’s home, the snow, wind and icy conditions led to the cancellation and postponement of several meetings and events throughout the county. The snow and ice also contributed to several accidents on local highways and the interstate.

PHOENIX, Ariz. – Kaidyn Kasun, pictured far right, represented Platte County during the Arizona National Junior Livestock Judging Contest held on Dec. 30 in Phoenix. Kasun judged a total of eight classes, consisting of cattle, swine, sheep, and goats, along with giving two sets of oral reasons. Out of a total of seventy contestants from around the United States, Kaidyn brought home top honors, placing as the Third High Overall Junior Individual.

WHEATLAND – The Platte County Memorial Hospital and Platte County Legacy Home Foundation Board (Foundation Board) received a special donation from Bomgaars. For the past several years, Bomgaars in Wheatland has hosted a “Night of Festive Fun and Fall Shopping” in October.

WHEATLAND – Local resident David Bush wanted to write a book. After researching, learning and putting his nose to the grindstone, he accomplished his task.

WHEATLAND – Platte County Memorial Hospital is excited to announce their first delivery of the year! Mallory Rae Deeney was welcomed by parents Joe and Nicole Deeney Friday, Jan. 13, 2023, at 11:19 p.m. In keeping with long standing tradition, Platte County Memorial Hospital gave the family a large gift basket full of baby supplies and goodies prepared by Simply Creative. Congratulations to the Deeney family!

CHEYENNE – The 124th annual Wyoming Press Association Convention was held at Little America in Cheyenne Jan. 19-21.
