Comprehensive Summary of Platte County Commissioner Proceedings pursuant W.S. §18-3-516(a) – The Board of County Commissioners, Platte County, Wyoming, met on the 5th day of May 2026 in the county seat of Wheatland. Those present for the meeting were Steve Shockley, Commission Chairman; Ian Jolovich, Commissioner; John “Jeb” Baker, Commissioner; and Malcolm Ervin, County Clerk. Fire Ban: Commissioner Jolovich motioned, seconded by Commissioner Baker, to approve Resolution #2026-07 reaffirming a fire ban in Platte County. The motion carried. The full resolution is available for inspection online at www.plattecountywyoming.com or in the Office of the County Clerk. Emergency Management: Jamie Rietz, Emergency Management Coordinator, informed the Board that dispatch was in need of replacing a repeater. The Board agreed the replacement was necessary and instructed Coordinator Rietz to proceed with the replacement. Executive Session: At 10:28 AM, Commissioner Jolovich motioned, seconded by Commissioner Baker, to call for an executive session for personnel matters pursuant to Wyoming Statute 16-4-405(a)(ii). The motion carried. At 11:10 AM, Commissioner Jolovich motioned, seconded by Commissioner Baker, to adjourn executive session where no decisions were made. The motion carried. There being no further business for board consideration, the meeting adjourned at approximately 11:11 AM. A regular meeting of the Board, which is open to the public, will be held Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at 9:00 a.m., at the County Courthouse, located 800 9th St., Wheatland, WY. The Board will also hold a special meeting on Wednesday, May 20, 2026 for the purpose of accepting public comment on the Chugwater Energy Project. That meeting will be held at the Agriplex (59 Antelope Gap Rd., Wheatland).
