Comprehensive Summary of Platte County Commissioner Proceedings pursuant W.S. §18-3-516(a) – The Board of County Commissioners, Platte County, Wyoming, met on the 16th day of December 2025 in the county seat of Wheatland. Those present for the meeting were Steve Shockley, Commission Chairman; Ian Jolovich, Commissioner; John “Jeb” Baker, Commissioner; and Malcolm Ervin, County Clerk. Chairman Shockley called the meeting to order at 9:00 AM. Commissioner Jolovich motioned, seconded by Commissioner Baker, to approve the agenda as presented. The motion carried. Tax Cancellations: Commissioner Jolovich motioned, seconded by Commissioner Baker, to approve the tax cancellation and rebate as presented. The motion carried. County Sheriff: Commissioner Jolovich motioned, seconded by Commissioner Baker, to approve a maintenance agreement with Idemia Identity & Security and authorize Sheriff Krotz to sign. The motion carried. Appointments: Commissioner Baker motioned, seconded by Chairman Shockley, to appoint Justin Gentle to the Fair Board for a term expiring December 31, 2030. The motion carried with Commissioner Jolovich abstaining. Commissioner Baker motioned, seconded by Commissioner Jolovich, to appoint Cindy Witt to the Lodging Tax & Tourism Joint Powers Board for a term expiring December 31, 2028. The motion carried. Commissioner Jolovich motioned, seconded by Commissioner Baker, to recommend the appointment of Jamie Rietz as Emergency Management Coordinator to the governor’s office and further move that Jamie Rietz be appointed as Fire Warden of Platte County. The motion carried with Chairman Shockley abstaining. There being no further business for board consideration, the meeting adjourned at approximately 10:50 AM.
