The Platte County 9-12 Cal Ripken baseball league wrapped up their season last week with the county tournament. The league had five teams, the Dodgers, Pirates, Nationals, Orioles and Guernsey Braves.

The Orioles would enter the tournament as the No. 1 seed. The tournament would see several upsets including the No. 4 seeded Dodgers fighting off elimination in three straight games with upset wins over the No. 3 Nationals and No. 2 Braves. The Orioles reached the finals by beating the Braves 8-0 on a 10 strikeout and no-hit performance by pitcher Treyton Megeath.
In the final game, the teams would face off for the fourth time this season. The Orioles would start things off in the bottom of the first.  After singles by Simon May and Cooper Meyer, Brock Peasley (three for three) would drive both players in on a deep double to center field to go up 2-0.  In the second inning, Aiden Dial (two for two) would hit a two-run homer to the alfala past deep left field and the Orioles jumped out to a 12-2 lead.  In the third, the Dodgers would get rolling with RBI singles by Lorenzo Rojo and Jacob Mann. Three errors by the Orioles would allow three more runs and the Dodgers would climb back 12-8. In the fourth inning, Kenny Raser would hit a two-run double to put the Orioles up for good. Brock would get the win, with six strikeouts.  Maxx Meyer would get the save, allowing one run in the final two innings.
For the Orioles, Cooper Meyer finished three for three with two singles and a triple. Aric Suko and Beckett Graves would lead the Dodgers as both went for long doubles. The Orioles would be crowned league champions 19-9 and finished the season 18-1.
The Platte County all star teams will compete July 6-9 in the state tournament in Casper.
