WHEATLAND – Middle school volleyball wrapped up on October 12th. The 8th grade stayed in Wheatland and the 7th grade was in Newcastle.
Teamwork and good attitudes led the 7th grade A team through to a winning season. They were brought home with the fire trucks a announcing a conference win. No conference team provided a challenge to the girls as they were determined to win. The 7B team finished in third place and showed great improvement through the season.
The 8th grade A team started slow and fell in the first game to Buffalo. They rallied, came together and won the next against Newcastle. They were able to show their strength and win third place with a win over Torrington. After a split season, they ended on a positive note.
It was a tough end of the day for the 8th grade B. Also with an up and down session, they went into Saturday ready to play. They played well and beat Buffalo out of the gate to go to the championship. Playing Douglas, they went back and forth and missed the win by only two points.
All of these girls will be a great group to watch come up through the ranks.
