Esther I. Nava (Salazar) left this world peacefully on Monday, March 17th, 2025, in Loveland, Colorado, having just turned 78 years old.
Esther is survived by her husband, Leonard C. Nava, daughters, Lenore S. Nava-Tsukas (Carl R. Price) and Patricia L. Nava-Harston (Jason Harston) of Wheatland, Wyoming. Grandchildren, Charles D. Tsukas (Sadie Tsukas) of Wellington, Colorado Catlin D. Porter (Jeremy Porter) Tyler N. Harston of Wheatland, and Jordan W. Harston of Laramie, Wyoming. Great grandchildren, Delilah L. Porter, Jaxon L. Porter, Conner L. Porter, Charli J. Tsukas and Baby Girl Tsukas. And brothers, Able Salazar and David Salazar.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Joe Ramos and Rachel V. Salazar, brother, Raymond Salazar, sisters, Julia Castenada, Viola Lemus, Annie Ortega, and Susan Salazar.
Esther was born in Wheatland on February 9, 1947, to Joe Ramos and Rachel V. Salazar. She attended school in Laramie and later graduated in Cheyenne, Wyoming. She worked as a clerk for Parks and Rec of Laramie County, and she was a Librarian at the Laramie County Library, she married Leonard C. Nava on November 9, 1969, and moved to Gillette, Wyoming to raise her family where she worked at the Campbell County Library. The family moved to Wheatland where Esther worked for the Platte County School District. Esther’s daughters made their homes in Wheatland and Esther became a full-time grandmother and a completely devoted great-grandmother to Delilah, Jaxon, Conner, Charli, and she was especially excited to meet her newest great grand baby girl Tsukas.
Esther will always be remembered as being a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed collectibles, cooking for her family, homemaking, and all things “Wyoming”. She also enjoyed fishing and camping with her family and traveling with Leonard on their motorcycle and visiting friends and family in other states.
Esther’s family, extended family and many friends will come together to celebrate her life on July 26th, 2025, at The First Christian Church of Wheatland and she will be laid to rest at the Wheatland Cemetery.
