Wheatland High School freshman Ariel “Alex” Kumelos made history at the the very first sanctioned Girls High School Wrestling State Tournament at the Ford Wyoming Center in Casper last month. Kumelos won her final match against Andraya Canchola from Natrona to take the state title at 125 lbs. When the team arrived back home on Sunday following the state tournament, the traditional champions parade was held in Wheatland. Kumelos has been selected for the first women’s All-State wrestling team as she won the award in the 125 lb. competition.
