DOUGLAS - On Friday night, the Bulldog boys faced a highly ranked Douglas team. At the time of play, Wheatland came into the game with a 7-6 overall and 1-1 conference record. In contrast, the Bearcats were 8-3 on the season with an undefeated conference record, 2-0.

DOUGLAS - The Lady Bulldogs traveled to conference rival territory to take on the Douglas Bearcats in hoops action Friday night. The Bearcats are currently ranked #1 in the state with an undefeated record.

LOVELAND, Colo. - The WHS Bulldog wrestling team traveled to Colorado over the weekend for the Loveland Wrestling Invitational, with great outcomes.

WHEATLAND - Coach Cochran’s Bulldogs came out hot on Saturday night against the Rawlins Outlaws, and it seemed they couldn’t be stopped. In spite of intense defense by the Outlaws, the Bulldogs powered up and down the court, gaining a five-point lead by half-time, 29-24.

WHEATLAND - Ferocious defense and intentional offense kept the Rawlins girls playing catch-up all night as the Lady ‘Dawgs dominated the floor yet again. Coming off a loss to conference rival Torrington the night before, the Bulldogs were poised and ready for non-stop action against the Outlaws on Saturday night.

GERING – It was a battle of the Bulldogs on Thursday night as Wheatland traveled to meet Nebraska rival Gering just one step ahead of the arctic chill that followed.

GERING — With a 6-4 record under their belt Thursday night, head coach Mick Cochran and his Bulldogs headed to Gering, Nebraska to face Bulldogs on the other side of the state line. Gering came into the contest with a 3-7 record.

CHEYENNE — A three-game weekend faced the Bulldogs as they came off their holiday break to take on 4A teams at the James Johnson Invitational in Cheyenne starting Thursday. WHS went head-to-head with Kelly Walsh who started out hot, as they were the first on the scoreboard, shaking off holiday rust. But senior Brock Peasley took a dime drop from Jacob Hyche and tied it up.

CHEYENNE — Coming off a holiday moratorium can be difficult, as some rustiness and lethargy can set in, especially when the first outing means facing three separate 4A Class opponents right out of the gate

DOUGLAS – There were over 30 wrestling teams competing at the 2024 Shane Shatto Memorial wrestling tournament in Douglas over the weekend. Wheatland Bulldog wrestlers had a solid showing, even though there were over 30 teams participating in the competition.

January 2023 WHS senior overcomes odds at the end of the tunnel WHEATLAND – It was the end of a very long tunnel for Maxx Meyer Thursday night and from the adversity of a sports injury, he made his initial comeback at Wheatland’s only home wrestling event this year against Laramie High School.

DOUGLAS — The Lady Bulldogs traveled once again, heading to the Douglas Classic over the weekend where they faced the 5th ranked team in 3A girls’ basketball. With four wins and only one loss for the Bulldogs, the girls took the floor Saturday morning ready to go, after beating Burns the night before, 41-36. The Lander Valley Lady Tigers came into this game averaging 41 points per game, shooting 44% from the field.

WHEATLAND – The Wheatland Bulldog wrestlers (both boys and girls) traveled to the Bridgeport/Sidney Invite over the weekend, where they met both Wyoming and Nebraska competition in various weight and conference classes. Several Wheatland wrestlers were able to place in their respective weight classes, thereby adding to overall team scoring.

WHEATLAND — After a season of thrilling victories and heartbreaking losses, the Wheatland Bulldogs football team ended the 2023 season with a 3-4 3A East Conference record and a 3-2 overall record.

PLATTE COUNTY – While 4-H shooting sports are not on target during the fair, Platte County 4-H Shooting Sports is hitting the target all year. The shooting sports program in Platte County continues to be one of the most popular and boasts some of the highest enrollment amongst the 4-H projects.

WHEATLAND – For the third year in a row, runners and walkers showed up for a little fun and exercise at a 5K run sponsored by Banner Health in Wheatland.

On Wednesday, at 3:45 on November 8, Lily Nichols, of Wheatland, signed her National Letter of Intent to compete in the heptathlon, 400 hurdles and middle distance for the University of Wyoming Track & Field Team.

LARAMIE – It was another one for the ages in the 115th Edition of the Border War between the Wyoming Cowboys and Colorado State Rams on Friday night in Laramie as the Cowboys came away with a 24-15 victory over the Rams.

CASPER – The Wheatland Bulldogs volleyball team traveled to the state tournament in Caspet this past week and faced off with Mountain View in the first round of play Thursday, November 2.
