Public Notice: 45-Day Comment Period for Wheatland and Rock Creek TMDL in Platte County

The Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality (WDEQ) has prepared a Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) to address E. coli impairments in Wheatland Creek and Rock Creek in Platte County. The TMDL establishes limits for both point and nonpoint sources that contribute E. coli loads to the impaired waterbodies. These limits represent the maximum amount of daily E. coli loading that can occur and still achieve compliance with the WDEQ’s 60-day average concentration of 126 organisms/100 mL water quality standard for E. coli.

The TMDL document is available for public comment through the WDEQ comment portal (http://wq.wyomingdeq.commentinput.com/) for the next 45 days ending at 5:00 p.m. on May 2, 2022. Requests for additional information related to the TMDL document should be directed to Ronald Steg by email (Ron.Steg@wyo.gov) or phone (307-335-6980).  Comments must be made through the comment portal.
