James Douglass, 34, passed away December 13th, 2023, at the Mayo hospital in Jacksonville, Florida. He was the beloved son of Robin McClain and Dick Douglass. James was also cherished by his stepfather, Russell McClain who played an integral role in his life and Shauna Johnson.
James was a dedicated worker in the coal mining industry, where he forged lasting friendships. He was a man of many passions. Finding joy in the thrill of mud bogging, the excitement of video games and the power of fast cars and trucks. James cherished spending time with his family and friends, creating lasting memories and sharing his infectious laughter with all those around him.
James is survived by his mom, Robin McClain, dad, Dick (Sonny) Douglass, stepfather, Russell McClain. His loving brothers, Steven Douglass and Sammy McClain. His wife, Rachael Becker and her three children, Emma, Chloe and Ethan. As well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. James’s presence will be sorely missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His kindness, humor, and unwavering dedication to his family and friends will be remembered and cherished forever.

A memorial service to celebrate James’s life will be held in the summer of 2024 at Laramie Peak Mountain. A place that held special meaning to James.
James will be deeply missed by all who knew him and his memory will live on in the hearts that he touched. May he rest in peace, forever remembered for the light he brought into the lives of others.
