PINE BLUFFS – The Guernsey-Sunrise High School track team did well at the Pine Bluffs Field Event Extravaganza last Thursday at Pine Bluffs High School, while the meet at Torrington on Friday got cancelled after the first session of field events due to lightning delays.
"I think the kids feel like they're peaking at the right time and are hoping to compete well at regionals,” coach Troy Reichert said. “There were a lot of personal records set at the Pine Bluffs meet, and you can feel the confidence beginning to really grow in a lot of the athletes. We've got some kids that have already pre-qualified for state, but there are some major opportunities for others to find their way to Casper. It would be great to get all four of our seniors there, but it would also help our program if we can get some of our freshmen and sophomores to experience the state atmosphere as well."
