WHEATLAND – The Lobos went on a three-game win streak starting with a road win versus the Laramie Rangers on Thursday, July 10th and continuing with wins against the Buffalo Bulls on Friday the 12th. This week our sluggers took on the Tigers of T-Town for their last regular season home game. The Lobos then traveled to Laramie and Buffalo to conclude their busy week. Next week team manager Myles Hixson and Post 10 of Wheatland will begin postseason play which includes their Class A state tournament.
Senior night concluded with a 16-6 loss against the Torrington Tigers. Lee Raser hit a pop fly to bring a runner into first and Mason Collar hit a single to also get a runner home, but the first inning proved to be the most productive on the scoreboard. Collar also took the mound for the first two innings, Lee Raser was on the hill for the third inning, and Grady Bohlander for the last four innings.
The Lobos double header against the Rangers ended with our squad on top with their ninth victory on the season. Wheatland Post 10 lost the first game 8-3 as Laramie jumped to an early lead. The second game was a different story. The Lobos prevailed with a 9-5 score over the Rangers. Lee Raser had two hits and one RBI as Nolan Schaffner added one hit and two RBI’s. Cooper Meyer was on the bump for six innings and Lorenzo Rojo closed out the seventh.

Friday proved to be a success as the Lobos won both road games against the Buffalo Bills. The first game ended with a 15-5 victory and the second with a 7-6 win.
“The first game of the double header we came out hot, scoring four in the first three innings,” Hixson stated. “We were putting pressure on Buffalo and forced them to make the hard plays. We had many seniors step up and play well for us. In game two we got behind early, we kept chipping away and finding a way to get back into this game. The seniors stepped up and took control. We scored seven in the fourth, fifth, and sixth innings to take the lead and ultimately win the game.”
“I was very proud of the seniors for getting this team together to get the job done in a very important conference game,” he said.
Lee Raser was three for five with four RBI’s and a triple, in addition to Beckett Graves going one for two with a run and Ayden Lind went three for four from the plate in game one.
For game two: Grant Goodrich pitched four innings, had four hits and two earned runs, while Cooper Meyer went two for four and had one RBI. The Lobos finished the regular season 11-36.
