WHS athletes were escorted back to the school by Wheatland Volunteer Fire Department after their success at the state tournament. Tyler Bohnen took first place in the 200-meter (21.91), 100-meter (11.25); Lily Nichols took first in the long jump (18-9.5), 800-meter (2:22.48), and sprint medley (below); Desirae Iacovetto took second in the 100-meter (12.38) and 200-meter (24.90)
Lady Bulldog sprint medley team won their event and set an all-class state record at their final medley as a team during state track. Lily Nichols (l-r), Laynie Goertz, Maggie Hicks and Desirae Iacovetto ran the 1600-meters in 200, 200, 400 and 800 increments as a relay team in just 4 minutes, 14.04 seconds.
