WHEATLAND – Knocking their arrows, aiming and cheering were all on tap at the 2023 annual 4H Platte County archery shoot.

“It was a great day,” said Jared Souza. “We Had an awesome turnout and hoping that some of the kids who shot with us will join us for 4H next year. Everyone had fun.”

If kids did not have equipment everything they needed was provided for them and many were taught how to shoot for the first time. In addition to Platte County kids, there were others from other 4H programs in the state that came to practice and prepare for their county shoots and for the state shoot in July.

“I think a special thanks needs to go to the Platte County Fair Board, Stacy (Buchholz) and the maintenance crew, including all the leaders and volunteers that donate so much time, money and effort each year to these programs.”
