PCSD No. 1 honors support staff persons and teacher of the year

WHEATLAND - Thursday, May 25, PCSD No. 1 honored their Support Staff Person of the Year. This year, they recognized two individuals, Tim Simpson and David Whitford. Both men have worked for PCSD No. 1 in the maintenance department for several years. A truly well deserved award for them, as they keep all of the buildings up and running and the grounds of the Wheatland schools well maintained. Congratulations, Tim and Dave and thank you for all your hard work and contribution to Platte County School District No. 1.

In addition, the Platte County School District No. 1 selected it’s outstanding teacher of the year.

According to the PCSD No. 1 Facebook page, “Danielle Parker has been a teacher for 12 years. She graduated from Olivet Nazarene University with a Bachelor of Science in Education and received a Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Educational Leadership from St. Xavier University. Danielle spent her first three years in the classroom teaching First Grade at Monee Elementary in Monee, Illinois. She came to West Elementary in the fall of 2014 and spent the next six years teaching Fifth Grade before moving to Third Grade, where she just finished her third year. Parker has currently been pursuing extra training in Early Literacy and will be co-presenting at the University of Wyoming’s Embracing Literacy Conference, this summer. Congratulations on being selected PCSD No. 1 Teacher of the Year.”
