WHS golf champions get parade

Posted

The Wheatland High School girls golf team repeated as Wyoming girls 3A golf champions. A tradition in Wheatland is that every champion that comes home with hardware gets a parade around town. Last Wednesday at noon firetrucks and police vehicles were escorting the girls, the coaches and the families of the golfers in a parade that started from Wheatland High School and did a huge circle around town. People lined the streets to welcome home the conquering heroes. Pictured on the Wheatland Fire Truck (from left) Lola Philo, Macy Jones, Lily Nichols, Bryley Waring and Jazlynne Gonzales. The girls finished an unbelievable 25 strokes ahead of their nearest competitors and the entire team will be back next season to shoot for a 3-peat.
