WHEATLAND - The last day of school before the Christmas holidays used to be a day where not much happened. But for the last three years the Wheatland High School has made the day one of significant importance - The Day of Service.
Students are given a choice of of several different community service options to do in the morning. There are two different sessions of and hour and 30 minutes each so they may try different options.
There was Christmas Caroling at area businesses, deep cleaning at the 4-H Building, packing food baskets for the Lions Club at the Chamber, construction help at the Mini Golf Course being built at the park, decorating cookies to be handed out, writing letters to members of the military, and more.
