I know many people, including myself, who have children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren that have stopped serving the Lord or have never served the Lord, and their lives are a mess. I fervently say, we must never stop praying, trusting and believing God for them.
When we receive the Lord, all the promises found in His Word belong to us. I stand on Jeremiah 29:11: For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Yes, that is for us if we are God’s children. But Jesus went to the cross for all of humanity, and anyone who believes on Him will be saved. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life (John 3:16).

I refuse to believe the lie that my grandchild will never change and will always be an addict! Has he made wrong choices? Most definitely, but he once loved the Lord and we have a very patient God, so I continue to pray, trust, and believe that God has mighty things in store for him again one day. I continue to claim Jeremiah 31:17: There is hope in your future, says the LORD, that your children shall come back to their own border. To me this is a wow promise. God is true to His Word.
We and our children and grandchildren live in a world system that is controlled by the evil one who wants and plans for us all to fail. He puts all kinds of temptations in front of us. Everywhere our children look today, they see a man and woman choosing to live together without getting married. Divorce is at 50 percent or more! Drugs are rampant, and now marijuana is legal in most states, to name a few of the things that seek to trip Christians up today.
Morals are down the drain so without the Lord’s intervention, they are mostly lost. Sadly, compromise has entered the church and our children see that. We must stand up, my fellow Christians, and call SIN for what it is – SIN! Let’s quit reasoning why it is okay, that today’s generation just sees things differently. Get with the times, man! Baloney! If it is against God and His Word, then it is sin!
Let us determine in our hearts to take authority over the devil who is keeping our families down and bound. Take a promise from the Word of God and start calling forth their future according to God’s promise. Our kids and grandkids (brothers, sisters, etc!)  have a future and a hope. Why? Because Jesus loves them and wants them to succeed, even more than we do!
