Steven Charles Schirmer, age 73, resident of Chugwater, left this life on November 23, 2023.
Steven was born December 16, 1949, in Wheatland to Francis (Purdue) and Charles Schirmer. He attended Chugwater schools and served his country in the U.S. Air Force, 1969-1975.
Steven and first wife, Vickie Beller had two children, Steven Charles, Jr and Catherine Elizabeth. They lived in Las Vegas, Cheyenne and Clovis while he was in the Air Force. They divorced and Steve went back to Wyoming.
In 1984, Steven and Christine (Penick) were married, and he became stepfather to Eric, Shane, Kristi, and Rosemary Marlatt. Soon after, their son, James Douglas was born.
Steve loved fishing in his boat and BBQing with family and friends. He was an equipment operator for gold and coal mines, was hard working and enjoyed splitting firewood and helping others.
Steven is survived by siblings Joseph Gregory Schirmer, Stan Schirmer (Marie), Judy Westfall (Si), Ellen Schirmer; children, Steven Schirmer, Jr (Mary), Catherine Schirmer, James Schirmer (Megan), Eric Marlatt (Lanie), Shane Marlatt (Rebecca), Kristi Lindsay (William), Rosemary Sessions (Justin); grandchildren, Devin Marlatt (Monique), JonTomas Marlatt, Skyler Thompson, Kalyn Thompson, Alax Baysinger (Chastity), Allyson Schirmer, Jayden Morash, Mason Brown; great-grandsons, Graham Baysinger, Zayvian Marlatt; numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by parents, Francis and Charles Schirmer, siblings, Charlotte, James, Jessie, Jeanene, and Leon.
Family and friends will gather in celebration of the lives of Steven and Christine Schirmer at a future date, announcement to follow.
