WHEATLAND — The Platte County Youth Baseball League hosted the Platte County Round Robin baseball tournament last weekend at the city baseball complex.
The age 10 and under (10u) team from Platte County went 0-2 against Torrington in a doubleheader June 30. After giving up 25 runs in the first game, the 10u team held a 9-6 lead into the fourth inning in game two. They fell 19-6 in the fifth inning.

WHEATLAND — The Platte County Youth Baseball League hosted the Platte County Round Robin baseball tournament last weekend at the city baseball complex.
The age 10 and under (10u) team from Platte County went 0-2 against Torrington in a doubleheader June 30. After giving up 25 runs in the first game, the 10u team held a 9-6 lead into the fourth inning in game two. They fell 19-6 in the fifth inning.
The 12u side had eight teams, including teams from Casper, Torrington, Glenrock, Douglas (2), Wheatland (2) and Gering, Nebraska. Fans were treated to some outstanding games during the two-day event.
Platte County had two 12u teams that included players from Wheatland, Guernsey and Chugwater. Team No. 2 dropped game one 1-18 against the Torrington 12u team. In the evening game, they bounced back and defeated Glenrock 7-4 behind the arm of Lane N. They beat Douglas No. 2 12-2 on July 1 to finish the weekend 2-1.
