Platte County youth livestock competitions underway
The Platte County School District No. 1 school board discussed several policy changes, including the staffing guidelines for extra duty activities and repeal gun-free zones law at its regularly scheduled meeting on June 16. Board member Clay Becker and Doug Weaver discussed their similar beliefs over the gun policy.
Vernal, Utah and Riverton, Wyoming: Kaidyn Kasun earned Reserve Champion Overall Market Goat at the DinoMite Classic in Vernal, Utah.She backed that up at the Fremont Springs Spectacular with the Banner Show Champion Overall Market Goat.
Lubbock, Texas: This past week Kaidyn Kasun attended the 2025 Texas Tech Livestock Judging camp. While there she competed in several competitions and finished as the High Individual Overall.This also included top performances as High Individual in Sheep & Goats Judging, 5th High Individual in Cattle, and 9th High Individual in Reasons.
Walden, Colorado: Molly McGuire, Carly Robertson, and Teagan McGuire competed at the North Park Jackpot in Walden, Colorado in early June.Teagan won the Intermediate Goat Showmanship.
Kimball, Nebraska: Molly McGuire, Teagan McGuire, Karly Jones, Lexi Jones, and Parker Jones traveled to Kimball, Nebraska for the FFA Alumni Father’s Day Weekend. Molly took fourth in senior sheep showmanship. Teagan earned 3rd in intermediate sheep showmanship and 2nd in her class with her goat. Karly won her class with her steer and made the final drive.She was also 4th in senior beef showmanship. Lexi won her class with her market doe, she also earned 5th and 6th place goat in their respective classes. Lexi was fourth in intermediate goat showmanship. In addition she earned 4th in the intermediate beef showmanship competition out of 22 entries. Parker Jones earned 2nd place in his class with his steer.
