STURGIS, S.D. — Legion Post 10 varsity traveled to South Dakota on Friday for the Sturgis Tournament, posting a 1-2 record.
The Lobos faced Sturgis Post 33 Titans on Saturday morning, taking a 0-8 loss. The Lobos battled close with the Titans as the game was scoreless for the first two innings. After the struggle in the third inning, they kept the Titans from scoring in the fourth and only allowed one run in the fifth.
The Lobos claimed the win against Winner/Colome Royals varsity 10-2 with starter Joel Anderson. Their scoring success began with three runs in the third inning and finished strong with four runs in the fifth inning. Ned Hageman contributed with four RBIs.
Sunday, the Lobos closely matched the Black Hills Bombers, though taking a 0-1 loss. Starter Hageman surrendered no walks, striking out six in his six innings. Luke Anderson, John Sarad, Hageman and Cross Hernandez contributed the five hits the Lobos claimed.
