GUERNSEY—The most painful part of the Lady Vikings loss Saturday to Hulett was knowing they could and probably should have won the game. They had built a modest lead in the first half but Hulett refused to go away and in the end, three-pointers by the Lady Devils and poor free-throw shooting and turnovers were the difference and Hulett claimed a 48-39.
It was the second game of the week that the Lady Vikes missed a chance. On Monday, the Sioux County Lady Warriors from Harrison, Neb. escaped with a 31-26 win over Guernsey-Sunrise.
Stats were not available by press time for either game.
The Freshman-Sophomore tournament was held Monday night in Lusk but results were not available at press time.
This week, the Lingle-Fort Laramie Lady Doggers will come to Guernsey this Thursday. The junior varsity is scheduled to play two quarters beginning at 4:30 p.m., followed by the varsity at 5:30 p.m.
Next Tuesday, they will host Banner County from Harrisburg, Neb. This will be a varsity-only matchup set to begin at 4 p.m.
