WHEATLAND – The Wheatland High School boys’ basketball team pulled off an opening round upset on their home court at the 3A East Regional Tournament.
The 48-42 victory over the Douglas Bearcats propelled them to a No. 2 seed for this weekend’s Class 3A State Tournament in Casper.
Wheatland junior Kobey Preuit looked to set the tone early with a 3-pointer.
The rest of the first half was a back-and-forth affair with neither team being able to grow a lead any more than four points.
