A funeral service for Billie “Ann” Tatman, 94, was held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, December 23, 2023 at First Christian Church in Wheatland with Pastor Casey Schroeder officiating. Interment was in the Wheatland Cemetery.

Ann was escorted into the Heavenly Realm on Monday, December 18, 2023, at Platte County Legacy home in Wheatland.

Ann was born on Wednesday, June 26, 1929, in Tucker, Georgia, to Annie Lou (Nunn) and Edwin A. Greer. She attended and graduated from school in Tucker. She played basketball, softball, and track in spite of her short leg incurred from an accident at 11 years of age.

After graduating, she went to business school in Atlanta, Georgia and then worked as a comptometer operator for over a year with a national manufacturing firm in Atlanta. She met Dale Tatman in 1946, when he was visiting his sister there. They were married on October 11, 1947 and moved to Turkey Ridge near Walsenburg, Colorado.

A new way of life awaited Ann in Colorado from 1947 to 1950. She raised her first garden, rode her first horse (wow, sore bones), also attended her first square dance. Then they moved to the North Laramie River near Wheatland with their two small girls in March of 1950. Ann’s dad and Dale built a log house and they lived there, adding two more children to the family. They moved to a ranch northeast of Rock River. Dale and Ann sold their cattle in 1990 but continued to be involved until the ranch sold in 2007 and they moved back to Wheatland.
