The Chugwater Town Council filled a vacant council seat with Carol Ash during the council’s regular meeting Feb. 5, according to minutes from the meeting.
Mayor Lisa Redding said there was a seat vacancy because Councilor Kenny Clark resigned last month. Redding suggested the council consider Ash for the position. Ash was voted in unanimously by the council, then took the oath of office and took her seat with the council.
In other matters, council heard from Rick Michon, electrical compliance inspector for the State Fire Marshal’s Office, who reported the Chug-Chug Gas-n-Go is out of compliance with several electrical issues and that there have been ongoing issues with electrical contractors.
Council discussed several citizen complaints about the Chug-Chug fuel pumps not working. A phone number is printed on the building for people to call if there are issues with the pumps.
Redding assigned a committee to monitor the progress of Chug-Chug and asked Ash and David Clough to be on the committee. Alex Cadar will also appoint someone to be on the committee, which will report to Redding and the town attorney.
