CHEYENNE – The Wheatland High School track team competed at Cheyenne East. The girls varsity team earned seventh and the boys earned 10th place. Coach Matt Hazen recapped the meet, “We had a great meet on Friday, the weather was excellent, about 80 degrees and made for some great competition. We had some athletes trying some new events and it seemed to work out well. Desirae Iacovetto ran the 100-meter hurdles for the first time and pre-qualified for state in the event. Bode Stone almost broke the shot put school record, he is only a few inches away now. We will head to Laramie on Wednesday for our next track meet.
