WHS athletes brave changing weather to succeed at Glenrock meet

GLENROCK – The Wheatland High School track team competed at Glenrock High School on Thursday, April 3rd – and experienced a range of weather conditions. Coach Matt Hazen commented on the wild weather week.
“We had a bit of a crazy meet on Thursday, the weather started off around 30 degrees, no wind, and sunshine, felt pretty awesome outside. As the day progressed the wind came up slightly and then we had a mini blizzard, then rain, and then it went back and forth for a while with snow, rain, and sunshine,” coach Hazen said. “Despite the weather changes athletes did well, Maggie Hicks pre-qualified for state in pole vault and we had multiple athletes set personal best marks for themselves. It was a good meet and I am looking forward to nicer weather on Friday, April 11th in Cheyenne.”
