What’s in a song…
Though there are some color variations in different regions, song sparrows are found throughout most of the North American continent. The birds tend to use the same locations for nests each year, even if new birds take over territory, according to allaboutbirds.org. Researchers have determined the male’s song is most attractive to females of the species when they can demonstrate, within the song, their ability to learn.
