WHEATLANDThe Platte County Memorial Hospital and Platte County Legacy Home Foundation Board (Foundation Board) received a special donation from Bomgaars. For the past several years, Bomgaars in Wheatland has hosted a “Night of Festive Fun and Fall Shopping” in October.

Along with great discounts and deals for shoppers, a percentage of the night’s proceeds were pledged to raise awareness about women’s health issues for Platte County. This was Wheatland’s biggest year yet, with a donation of $955.40 made to the Foundation Board for the Platte County Memorial Hospital.

“We are excited to use this opportunity to promote breast cancer awareness for Platte County’s residents,” Foundation Board Chair Bobbie Lockman said.

The Foundation Board exists to raise funding and provide financial support for selected projects and equipment needs for Platte County Memorial Hospital and Platte County Legacy Home.

The Foundation Board has chosen to award these funds to Platte County Memorial Hospital to promote breast cancer awareness in Platte County and support breast cancer screenings. Plans are underway to use these funds for an awareness/educational event later this year.

“We are grateful for the work of the Foundation Board and the support from local businesses in our community, like Bomgaars. This partnership supports our mission to give back to our community,” Rachel Ellis, human resources consultant at Platte County Memorial Hospital, said.
