In celebration of Teacher Appreciation Week, Platte County School District No. 1 hosted a spring appreciation social for all district teachers. The school board gave longevity recognitions to teachers in five-year increments (5 years, 10, years [pictured above], 15 years, 20 years, 25 years and 30 years), and each received customized gifts from the district. Superintendent John Weigel said he is excited to be able to recognize the teachers for their dedication to their students and the district. He also added, he is pleased the district was able to use bonus points on the school’s credit cards to pay for the refreshments provided during the event as well as the gifts, so the teachers were able to be shown how much they are appreciated while not taking away from their classroom budgets in any way.
