WHEATLAND – WHS multi-sport standout signed his National Letter of Intent to play football at North Dakota State College of Sciences. Bode Stone was a four year letter winner and team captain his senior year.
Stone’s freshmen year WHS finished 7-3 and his sophomore year the Bulldogs were 2-7. As a junior WHS went 4-6 with Stone averaging 10.6 defensive points per game, racking up 47 tackles, and tallying two sacks and two fumble recoveries. His senior year the Bulldogs went 4-6 with Stone leading the 2A third-ranked team defense averaging 10.1 defensive points per game and earning 52 tackles.
Stone has also discovered he has a talent for the throwers’ circle.

Stone earned all-state honors in indoor track and field this past season in the shot put, taking second overall at the state meet. Bode is leading 3A in the shot put with a personal best of 51’1”. He recently earned his personal record in the discus with a throw of 124 feet. Success in track has been a bonus, but Stone has always wanted to play football.
He started off playing Pups football and then was a part of the undefeated crew that went through Wheatland Middle School.
Stone has always worked hard when no one was looking, and truly dedicated himself to getting better as he entered high school. He began attending individual and team camps in the region, including: BYU Camp, BHSU Team Camp, WHS Lineman Camp, UW Camp, UNC Team Camp, Colorado School of Mines Camp, University of Utah Camp, and Alpha Recruits Speed Camp.
Stone also attended the National Junior Day Event for football held in Dallas, Texas, where he was able to play in the Cowboy Stadium. At BYU, Stone met Coach Kalani Sitaki who was encouraging and supported Stone in his pursuit of a college football career. In addition at the BHSU Team Camp in 2024, he was nominated for the Gatorade Player award from Wheatland as coaches heralded Stone as a “beast on both offense and defense.”
Stone set his career on the map as he competed at the Tiki Bowl in Hawaii, and was able to play on the winning team. The cherry on top is being selected to play in the Shrine Bowl this summer.
Stone has spent countless hours in the gym late at night during the summer, whenever he had to, outside of his work day. Truly, Stone has been a great role model to young players and his teammates; exuding confidence, steadfast work ethic, and unwavering focus on what it takes to reach your goals. Stone is planning to major in welding and will have the opportunity to continue to play at the next level after he earns his two year degree.
