LARAMIE – The Wheatland High School indoor track team traveled to the University of Wyoming for their meet this past Saturday, hosted by Laramie High School.
Coach Matt Hazen said he is satisfied with his team’s progress. “We had another great meet this weekend in Laramie – many athletes set new personal records for themselves. We have only been to two meets, and I am extremely happy with where we are at this early in the season.”
On the boys’ side there were numerous personal records:
Bode Stone placed second in the shot put with a throw of 43’4.5”.
Brayden Durland was 17th in the 55m hurdles at 10.77 and 74th in the 55m dash at 7.63 seconds.
Abad Luna was 26th in the 55m dash at 7.15, 12th in the 200m at 25.54, and 12th in the Long Jump at 17-3.75.
Trevor Basher placed 52nd in the 55m dash at 7.44, 19th in the 400m at 59.54, and 33rd in the 200m at 26.44.
Jay Downes was 77th in the 55m dash at 7.67, 33rd in the 400m at 1:08.87, and 43rd in the shot put with a throw of 26-4.
Tomas Martinez placed 102nd in the 55m dash at 7.91.
Caleb Fredericks was 10th in the shot put with a throw of 39-5.5.
Bryson Cook placed 38th in the shot put with a throw of 28-7.5.
Gabriel Castellanos was 112tth in the 55m dash at 8.12 and 7th in the shot put with a throw of 40-6.
Kaven Karr tied for 112th in the 55m dash at 8.12, 78th in the 200m at 28.86, and 27th in the Long Jump at 15-7.
Tyler Murray placed 19th in the mile at 5:43.48 and 16th in the 800m 2:34.72.
Aiden Megeath was 28th in the mile at 6:11.99, 34th in the 400m at 1:13.22, and 24th in the 800m at 2:57.35.
Demarcus Iacovetto placed 33rd in the mile at 6:28.08 and 23rd in the 800m at 2:56.44.
Sasha Jackson was 34th in the mile at 7:23.70 and 25th in the 800m at 3:20.01.
Cesar Dominguez was 27th in the 800m at 3:24.20 and 39th in the shot put with a throw of 27-11.
Gavin May was 12th in the 400m at 57.88, 31st in the 200m at 26.41, and 20th in the triple jump at 33-7.5.
The girls also had a great day with several top performances:
Desirae Iacovetto finished first in the 55m dash 7.42, fourth in the 200m at 28.00, 11th in the shot put at 28’2”, and fifth in the high jump at 4’8”.
Raelyn Goff was 12th in the 400m 1:09.74, 25th in the 200m at 30.35, 12th in the shot put at 27’11.5”, and fourth in the pole vault at 9-0.
Ashlyn Streets 55m dash 44th at 8.48, 13th in the triple jump at 29-2.5, and 11th in the pole vault at 7-0.
Allison Blum 55m dash 80th at 9.00, 72nd in the 200m at 35.07.
