Soto family to share stories, songs

HARTVILLE – “Gliding on Soto Street” will be the theme featured at the April meeting of the Sunrise Historic and Prehistoric Preservation Society (SHAPPS). Songs and stories reflecting the history of Hartville and Sunrise will be shared by Vic Soto and family at Hartville town hall beginning at 6 p.m. on April 24.
The Soto family grew up in Sunrise and Hartville.
In 1961, Larry Soto played guitar for the teen rock ‘n roll music group “The Dynamics,” a.k.a. “The Drivin’ Dynamics” and in 1963, Bobby Soto joined to play the drums. The group played their first gig at Little Moon Lake near Torrington, which was a hit. Soon they were playing several weekends a month around the Scottsbluff area and even performed around the country.
Larry wrote “The Sunrise Song” which was played by The Dynamics, and is featured on the SHAPPS website (shapps.org).
Everyone is welcome to join the Sotos for a trip down memory lane.
