WHEATLAND – The month of January was a hub of gatherings at the Wheatland Services for Seniors activities center.
Debbie Collins of Banner Health spoke with local seniors about “rethinking your drink.” She gave information on what’s in beverages, to bring awareness especially for those on special or restricted diets.
Seniors also viewed a free movie with the bonus of including fresh popcorn, cookies and soda for refreshments. Strong bones classes are also held three times a week, Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 10 a.m.
Special guest Cherie Wilson walked seniors through how to make various crafts utilizing stained glass mosaics Jan. 23. Wilson just returned from visiting Kokomo, Indiana and wanted to share all her fun finds. There are plans in the works in the coming months to do an “arm chair tour” with pictures and more information from her trip to Kokomo.
“We always have a coffee pot brewing, please stop by for a cup of hot coffee and see what we’re doing at our local Wheatland Seniors Activities center. We have our monthly Activities calendars and food menus calendar available for you as well.”
“It’s truly the little things that mean the most,” activities director Carrie Kafka concluded.
