WHEATLAND – The Platte County Historical Society will host retired rural schoolteacher, Ann Koenig, at the Platte County Library on Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2024, beginning at 7 p.m.
Koenig moved to Wyoming in 1977 to teach in Albany County rural schools after completing her BS and MS degrees from Oklahoma University. Her teaching career in preschool and elementary grades spanned 35 years in three Wyoming school districts. She retired from Platte County School District No. 1 in 2021.
Her program titled “Reflections of a Rural School Teacher” will include information about the establishment of rural schools in Wyoming, and statutes that pertained to the growth of rural education in Wyoming, along with many personal experiences (some of which are very humorous) of her years as a teacher.
The PCHS is a chapter of the Wyoming Historical Society.
