MIDWAY, UTAH – Team Wyoming, sponsored by the Wyoming Golf Association, will be represented by Tate and Lily Nichols this year. A boy’s team and a girl’s team are selected each year composed of the top four golfers for each. Last year Tate competed in Nevada and Lily competed in Canada for Team Wyoming.
This week, Soldier’s Hollow in Midway, Utah is hosting the 2024 Junior America’s Cup for both boys and girls divisions. The Junior America’s Cup is an International Golf Event, boasting teams from British Columbia, Canada; Idaho; two teams from Mexico: Nevada; northern California; Oregon; San Diego, California; southern California; Washington; Utah; Hawaii; Arizona; Alberta, Canada; Colorado; New Mexico; Texas; and Wyoming.
Team Wyoming will have two practice rounds on Sunday and Monday and then begin the tournament with opening ceremonies, where each team is announced and carries their state’s flag, posing for pictures with their group. PGA Golfer Tony Finau is the guest speaker kicking off the event on Monday night.

The pairing of the tournament begins on Tuesday with each team member playing with a different player from two other teams for the first two rounds. On Thursday, pairings are made based on the two previous 18 hole rounds. At the conclusion of the tournament awards are presented for individual as well as team scores.
The tournament is a hotbed for college coaches and is a great opportunity for players to be recognized and recruited.
