CHEYENNE – Members of FFA chapters from Platte County did well at the state FFA convention in Cheyenne last week. Reports that have come in are as follows:
“The Wheatland FFA had a tremendous year this year,” said Wheatland FFA adviser Bill Dalles. “We want to start by thanking everyone who supported us including but not limited to: Platte County School District 1 Board, Mr. Dziowgo, Mr. Sandlian, WHS Faculty and Staff, Citizens of Wheatland and Parents/Guardians. Throughout this year we assisted in multiple community service activities, several fundraising efforts and spent countless hours in the classroom preparing for state convention.”
Results are as follows:
Gold Emblem Chapter (award presented based on activities done throughout the year)
Champion Career Development Event Sweepstakes (Chapter had 5 teams with the best finishes compared to other chapters)

“Thank you everyone for your support of our chapter,” Dalles said. “Our annual FFA banquet and Labor auction will be May 9 at 6:30 p.m. in the WHS gym. If you would like to join in celebrating the chapter accomplishments please contact Mr. Dalles.”

Wyoming State FFA Convention recap: Allie Van Why: Third Prepared Public Speaking - Received her State Degree. Represented Chugwater as a State Officer Candidate. Savannah N.: 11th High Individual in JH Livestock Savannah N. and Noah: State Champion Agri-Science Fair Project. The members competed in Mechanics, Meats and Livestock as well! We are extremely proud of what the Chugwater members accomplished at State!!!!! Tess Palen: State Champion Employment Skills, sixth Extemporaneous Public Speaking. Tess and Rachel: State Champion Agri-Science Project Tess, Rachel and CJ: Awarded their State Degrees. We are extremely proud of what these members have accomplished and are excited to see what the future holds for them!
