WHEATLAND – Mary Evans, Cent$ible Nutrition coordinator and community, vitality and health educator at the UW Platte County Extension office is seeking to clarify, the $2,500 grant awarded to her department by the American Heart Association is making it possible to offer $25 gift certificates to participants who satisfy specific stipulations. Evans will be hosting four educational experiences over a two- or three-month period; the first 25 individuals who attend all four sessions and complete both an entry and exit survey will receive a $25 gift certificate. The food literacy program will provide hands-on experiences and interactive, evidence-based education. The $2,500 grant will be used for teaching materials and food.
