WHEATLAND – With support from 53 local businesses, the annual Kiwanis KidsDiscovery Day held at the Wheatland fire training center on May 3 was a success with over 400 attendees. The free event (donations accepted) is designed to provide the opportunity for kids through age 10 to get hands-on with trucks, sirens, and specialized equipment used in various businesses, industries, and emergency services in the local area.
There were lots of giveaways, free lunch, and lots of smiles throughout the morning.
Wheatland Kiwanis Club president Josephine Young said she was extremely pleased with the turnout, and really appreciates all the businesses who participated and donated to the event.
