WHEATLAND — Creative minds are firing on all cylinders at the Services for Seniors Activity Center. To spark the holiday spirit of crafting, activities coordinator Carrie Kafka and her loyal attendees repurposed used and cleaned coffee creamer containers to create whimsical North Pole characters, from Santa and Mrs. Claus, to snowmen, and elves.
Kafka was impressed with the amount of donations that came in specifically for this project, boasting dozens of cleaned plastic creamer bottles, ribbons, paint, pom-poms, and other holiday accessories. Donations of crafting items such as acrylic paint, glitter, brushes, buttons, etc., are always welcome and can be brought to the Activity Center.
Every Thursday in the month of December, there will be a holiday craft day. Be sure to join the fun and fellowship and get those creative juices flowing. Eat a cookie while you’re there. It’s good for sharpening the mind and lifting the spirit.
