According to WYDOT, Sections of I-25 will continue to be closed today, but may open by 1 p.m. this afternoon. The temperatures are supposed to reach the mid to upper 30s today - but the wind will continue to be a factor for blowing and drifting snow and subsequent snow removal.
"60+ mph winds will create significant blowing and drifting snow, poor visibility and possible whiteout/ground blizzard conditions through Wednesday evening," WYDOT posted. "Alternate routs and travel times are encouraged for I-80, I-25, South Pass and secondary roads in central, southern and eastern Wyoming."
As of 8 a.m. this morning I-25 remains closed between Exit 29, Whitaker Road and Chugwater and between Chugwater and Exit 73, WY 34. Also closed is southbound between Wheatland and exit 92, US 26. Additionally, southbound between Exit 92, US 26 and Glendo and Southbound between Glendo and Exit 126, US 18/20.
Advisories for secondary roads remain as they are described as slick, drifted snow with strong winds and blowing snow.
As for Cheyenne closures, WYDOT has the road between Cheyenne and Exit 29, Whitaker Road closed.
