WHEATLAND – Taking a cue from horse racing, Wheatland Country Store hosted its own in-store duck derby on May 30. The ducks have been raised at the store from hatchlings and have been practicing their swimming skills. June 6th was the big day for Arial, Flounder, Scuttle, Prince Eric, Sebastian, and Ursula.
Flounder and Sebastian were winners of the first heat, and Sebastian won the race by a bill during the championship. Customers from the store with his name printed on their receipt received half off their purchases on that receipt up to $75 through June 7th.
