WHEATLAND — The Platte County Fair Board discussed electrical upgrades needed at the fairgrounds’ indoor arena during the Platte County Commission’s regular meeting April 24, according to meeting minutes.
The commission suggested the fair board use its funds to upgrade the electrical system now, then the county will apply for countywide consensus funds in June to cover the amount of $10,150.
In other discussion, Nicole Sticka, public health nurse manager, talked about closing the Public Health Office from 12-1 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays for the staff’s clinic days. She also requested the office be closed May 30 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. so employees can participate in an emergency exercise.
The commission directed county staff to look into the possibility of buying more metal detectors for the courthouse.
County Clerk Chris Kanwischer provided the commission a draft resolution for elected officials’ salaries for 2019-22.
