WHEATLAND – A top priority at last week’s Platte County commissioner’s meeting was to lift the fire ban that has been in effect since June.
Following the appointment of Platte County emergency management coordinator Tony Krotz as county fire warden, the ban was lifted. Though Krotz cautioned though the moisture in early January has created better conditions temporarily, care still needs to be taken for anyone doing any burning because of underlying dry conditions and wind.
